In this blog post, I would like to introduce you to our card set "Building Bridges of the Heart" .
It originated during the time of distance learning. I was looking for ideas on how we could help children return to community after a long period of "isolation". How can we encourage children to approach each other again? How can we nurture our community and exchange feelings after this difficult phase for many children?
From these considerations, the new Oups card set "Building Bridges of the Heart" was born, which can have a lot of positive effects on children in schools, as well as in the family circle.

Right from the first use, I experienced how children distributed compliments with shining eyes. One of my shy girls managed to make a new friend with her drawn card. Beaming with joy, she came up to me during the following break and exclaimed excitedly: "She said yes!"
It consists of a high-quality folding cardboard box with 52 cards (5 categories)
that encourage young and old to express their feelings and to "build bridges" to each other.
There are 5 different lovingly designed categories:

The red cards: "Building Bridges of the Heart"
Oups helps you make new friends. If you draw a red card,
you can build bridges of the heart and approach someone with an open heart.
The purple cards: "Praise and Compliments"
Who would you like to compliment today? Who haven't you praised in a long time?
The blue cards: "Showing Feelings"
Listen within yourself. Listen to the answer, then open your heart and share the feeling
with someone. You'll see, you're not alone with your feelings.
The yellow cards: "Community"
Think about what we could do to create a world where everyone feels good!
The green cards: "Friendship"
Draw a card and think of someone you particularly like.
Perhaps you'll draw it for your sister, brother, mom, dad, a girlfriend or
a friend…
The cards can be used in many different ways. There are no limits to your own ideas. My first-graders this year are already looking forward to the next round, and I'm excited to see how many more bridges of the heart we'll build. I'm sure there will be quite a few more.
I wish you much joy and many shining faces when trying them out!
Feel free to leave a comment and tell us how you work with the card set. We always look forward to hearing from you.
