With the help of the card set "Treasures of your heart", the children have learned many different good qualities over time, as we draw a card every week. This is our motto, so to speak. We discuss what the card means and at the end of the week, we reflect on how well we succeeded with our resolutions.
Today we get to think about which good qualities make us so special right now. We exchange ideas in a discussion group. In the middle of our circle is the large Oups treasure chest. On and around it, I have distributed some <3 treasure cards. They serve as an impulse and help. Some children find it difficult to recognize their own strengths. Others are simply uncomfortable talking positively about themselves. We help these children together to recognize their strengths. I was once again amazed at how generously the children complimented each other and what a sparkle all the kind words brought to the children's eyes.
Following the discussion, the children transferred their "treasures" into the workbook. Here is the link to the workbook. They worked with dedication!

At the end of the school day, I send the workbooks home with the children. They should have the opportunity to present the results to their parents. They can also add anything that's missing. Mom and Dad certainly have great ideas too... <3 What they particularly like to do or are particularly good at can also find its place in the treasure chest in the workbook. There are no restrictions here. Plus, the treasure chest can be added to again and again throughout the joint learning years!!!
The next day, we present our personal treasure chests. We show our workbooks in a circle (whoever wants to) and collectively rejoice in our wealth. A beautiful conclusion this time was that the children gave each other compliments. They love our "candle ritual," where each child can give a compliment to another. This time we "gifted" each other the "favorite treasure" once again. Before that, I asked the children to consider what they were most proud of.
Their eyes lit up!! <3
Now I just had to label the children's prepared gold coins with their favorite treasure. The template for this is in the accompanying booklet for character education. Here's the link. Then they were ready to present in our Oups corner. The children are very proud of our "wealth"! I love this character education unit so much because it naturally leads the children from their own uniqueness to diversity!
I hope I was able to give you a little insight into this valuable unit from the concept of character education and wish you much joy in trying it out. You can now also find an opportunity to exchange ideas with me and other educators on Facebook. Visit us in the group "Character Education and Social Learning". Click here to check it out!
I look forward to seeing you!
